Cherry Pitter
Last week I saw this Push Button Cherry Pitter at Gallagher's Farm Market on 72 just outside of Traverse City, and thought I'd give it a try.
My son likes to help out with dinner, and lately he's been into making fruit salad. This tool looked like it would simplify the task, and boy did it ever. It screws onto a regular glass jar just like a lid. Then you place the cherry on it, push down on the plunger, and the pit drops into the jar. It was easy for my son to operate, and also helped contain some of the mess. So if you have young kids in the kitchen, give it a try!

A great tool indeed! I'd like to get my hands on that. Thanks for sharing.

This sounds like a good idea. I have a scissor style pitter and the pits often go flying.
