2007 Cab Franc ready at 2 Lads

2 Lads' 2007 Steel Cabernet Franc will be released on Labor Day Weekend (Aug 30). According to a 2 Lads press release:

We have not compromised and offered any of our fantastic 2007 vintage reds before they are truly "fighting fit." We're pleased to announce that day has come.

This Cab Franc was fermented and aged 100% in stainless steel and therefore shows none of the mellowing effects of oak aging. This beauty is rich and round as is! Lush and unpretentious fruit intermingles with fresh acidity, soft spice notes and supple tannins. Cab Franc in its purest form.

With only 93 cases produced, customers will be limited to 6 bottles per person, at $22 a bottle. 2 Lads anticipates the wine will sell quickly from its tasting room on the Old Mission Peninsula. If you can't make it there, call (231) 223-7722 and pre-order. Shipping is available.

Manna Food Project Needs Your Help

Manna Food Project helps feed almost 30,000 local families each year by distributing food to 37 pantries and agencies throughout Emmet, Charlevoix and Antrim counties. The nonprofit has partnered with Leadership Little Traverse on the Feeding our Future project, which will support expanding Manna's building.

The number of families seeking assistance last year increased 45% over the previous year. And with that number growing each month, Manna needs a larger warehouse area to receive, organize and store the food. A larger freezer will increase the amount of frozen food available and ease delivery of food into the warehouse, and the addition of a clean room will give Manna the space to repackage bulk food to make it easier for smaller pantries to handle.
